Lady Gaga meditation for the Las Vegas Shooting

In the aftermath of the biggest mass shooting event in the United States, Lady Gaga used Instagram Live to lead fans and any others who wished to join her, in a 20-minute meditation for the Las Vegas shooting tragedy with mantras of peace, calm, and light.

According to the latest reports, 58 people were fatally shot during Jason Aldean’s concert at the Route 91 Harvest Festival Sunday night in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. 500 and more were injured when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire into the crowd.

A SWAT team shot Paddock in his hotel room on the 32nd floor Mandalay Bay Resort, where he fired the multiple rounds from. He had also open fired in the room as law enforcement neared him, shooting a security guard in the leg. At least 23 guns were found in the room as well which reportedly were snuck in using more than ten suitcases.

Lady Gaga also used her platform to urge unity between Democrats and Republicans against terror and more effective gun control legislation in the United States.

The singer and actress began her invitation with an Instagram post, explaining that those who chose to join her live meditation would also hear how meditation has also helped her own personal struggles. Lady Gaga has been open in the past about her struggles with PTSD and how yoga and meditation has helped her.

She said that coming together in times of darkness, such as after the violent terrorist incident in Las Vegas on top of the troubles many are still going through in hurricane ravaged areas in Texas and more recently in Puerto Rico.

I am okay

These were the mantras that Lady Gaga used during the meditation on Instagram Live.

“My intention is to provide a forum for us all connect to around the world, as a calling for world peace and inner peace,” she continued. “We are one body, I believe we can calm inflammation in the earth by calming each other. #meditation #prayer #silence. If you choose to meditate with me I will explain how meditation is important in my life and how I will be doing I practice it before we get started. See you then. It will be very helpful to be in a quiet dark space, but anywhere is fine as long as we’re together,” she said.

Lady Gaga’s meditation for the Las Vegas shooting was on Instagram Live at on Oct. 3. She expressed her thanks to those who joined her and hopes that the few minutes of meditation helped others feel calm and peace as the practice also helped her through her personal mental health issues.

“I hope that you all enjoyed that as much as I did. That sort of quiet time and meditation really helps me with my mental health, and I think it’s important. I think if we can all focus on ourselves being calmer and calmer every day, I really believe the world will become calmer and calmer every day because we really are all just one body all connected together,” she ended the broadcast.
