The Namaste Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia, will feature yoga teachers from all over the world to share their expertise. In addition to bringing more variety of yoga to communities in Jakarta, the festival also aims to awards scholarships to potential teachers who otherwise do not have the financial means to fund their own teacher training.

Among the scholarships available via Namaste Festival are fully funded Teacher Training Certification (TTC) for 200 and 300 hour courses, as required by Yoga Alliance in the USA to be a registered yoga teacher, a 50-hour Budokon training in Miami with Cameron Shayne, inclusive of airfair to the USA, a week-long workshop with Jason Crandell in Singapore, and other workshops and classes available during and after the festival.

Namaste Festival 2017 will take place on Nov. 10-13 at Senayan Golf Driving Range GBK, Jakarta, Indonesia. (Some sources list the location of the festival at The Sultan Hotel.) Tickets are on sale for Rp. 2,750,000 (approximately $192.50) or Rp. 5.500.000 ($385) for a festival class including Teacher’s Labs.

 

To apply for one of the available Namaste Bhakti scholarships, applicants must purchase a ticket to the yoga festival and fill out an online form on the Namaste Festival website to describe their financial situation and how they will enrich the yoga community in Jakarta.

In exchange for a full or partial scholarship, successful applicants agree to write an essay within three to six months of completing yoga teacher training describing a project they agree to facilitate to bring yoga classes to prisons, rehab centers, or other communities for social awareness. They must also agree to staying on-board the Namaste Festival volunteer staff for a period of two years.

Namaste Festival 2017 is on of the the first yoga festivals in Jakarta. Its mission is to increase well-being and healing through yoga to Jakartans and Indonesians in general, to give back to the community with projects like scholarships via Namaste Bhakti, to raise awareness for sustainable and eco-friendly living through Namaste Green, and to put Jakarta on the map as a wellness and yoga destination.
