The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation announced that “Fight Song” singer, Rachel Platten, will recieve the inaugural Gracies Impact Award. The Award recognizes artists who have made positive changes in society through music. This special recognition will be presented at the 42nd annual Gracie Awards Gala where Platten will also perform.
Platten has been in the music industry for more than a decade but it wasn’t until her first big label studio album, Wild Fire that she became a household name and started performing in front of hundreds who have made “Fight Song” their anthem for hope and perseverance. In-between concerts, Platten has also made headlines performing her song to kids undergoing cancer treatment.
She shared in an interview with Viva Glam Magazine during her 2015 concert tour that she stayed healthy with the help of a personal trainer, lots of yoga, and smart food choices.
She also shared her favorite Yoga Music Playlist with Yoganonymous (now Wanderlust). Her favourite yoga tunes include “Sunrise” by Nora Jones, “Orange Sky” by Alexi Murdoch, and “I Will Follow You Into The Dark” by Death Cab for Cutie.
Rachel is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on her new album, expected later this year.
